One year ago tomorrow

While the nation focuses on the Inauguration tomorrow, I’ll be thinking about a different event.

It was January 20th, 2020 ... exactly a year ago ... that I boarded a plane in Boston, bound for Minsk.

Little did I know it would be my final trip to Belarus for more than a year.

Little did I know I would be with my beloved friend The Great Kozovaya for the very last time.

Little did I know a strange new disease would take her from us, and change our world forever.

“Little did I know” seems to be the mantra for our times.

I think if this last year, this weird, awful year, has taught us anything ... it’s the importance of making every day count.

Thanks to all who are helping our “Response of the Heart” team make every day count, in Belarus.

Your generosity is changing the lives of people in need there ... children and adults, families and individuals, all ages, all types.

They are grateful. So am I.

Thanks for journeying with New Thing!

Much love,

Doug Brendel
