For 23 long years, since Kristina first traveled to Belarus, we and our dear friends Oleg & Luda Yarovenko have longed for them to be allowed to visit us in America. It’s extremely difficult to get the U.S. State Dept. to approve any Belarusian for travel to the U.S. Oleg & Luda have been denied entrance visas before.
But by God’s grace (and the direct intervention of our Senator, Elizabeth Warren), Oleg & Luda have just been granted visas! They are free to visit America! Please help us bring them.
For more than a decade, they have served New Thing’s work in Belarus. They live in our flat on Karl Marx Street year-round, host us when we’re in Minsk, and serve as our “arms and legs, eyes and ears” when we’re not there. I think it’s about time their dream came true!
I know this is a very unusual request, but please consider helping us bring them here for a visit. It will cost a total of $1,502.87, round trip, for both of them together. (Amazingly low cost — hardly more than it costs me to fly to Minsk and back by myself!)
To meet supporters of New Thing, they will travel to as many places as possible. It will depend on funding for air fare. I’ll keep you posted. But for now, I hope you’ll be willing to help us at least bring them over the ocean!
