I visited our soup kitchen — with our new “boutique” full of clothes donated by local Belarusians! This is a wonderful new development ... People there are catching on to the joy of helping the needy! But our “Response of the Heart” team leader, “The Great Kozovaya,” brought me serious news: Many of the homeless urgently need good winter shoes. This is the one thing that’s very difficult to provide for people in need... It’s hard to find shoes that will hold up in the brutal climate. Hard to find shoes that fit properly. Winter shoes have to be bought — in the specific size of each individual. Kozovaya and the team will do the work — get the sizes, buy the shoes — if we’ll fund it. Immediate need: 25 pairs of shoes. Cost: just $23.36 a pair. Could you please give a $23.36 donation to New Thing right now to provide a pair of good winter shoes for a homeless person in Minsk? Or give $46.72 to provide 2 pairs of shoes? $70.08 will provide 3 pairs of shoes. $93.44 will provide 4 pairs of shoes. The total need is $584.
