#100

I’ve been visiting Rotary Clubs all over New England and upstate New York over the past 2 years, introducing people to the work of New Thing in Belarus and inviting Rotarians to follow along.

I’m happy to say that Rotarians have responded warmly, and today more than half of the people following New Thing are Rotary Club members.

Last Friday I visited my 100th club, in Trumbull, Conn., and the group was kind enough to let me take a selfie with them!

(They’re holding up copies of my book, Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Silliness, a copy of which I give to each Club member as a thank-you wherever I speak.)

My heartfelt thanks to all the Rotary Clubs who have welcomed me so warmly, and special thanks to all who have given so generously over these 2 years, in support of our “Response of the Heart” team in Belarus.

Meanwhile, here’s the latest on our campaign to put new sleeper-sofas in the homes for orphans at the Children’s Village in Kobryn.

29 households have given generously (some of them twice), for a total of $5624.42 toward the $7000.

So we’re just $1375.58 away from the goal.

If you’d like to help, I’ll be grateful!

A good friend has offered a terrific Matching Challenge, so any gift you give will be matched dollar-for-dollar, the impact of your generosity doubled, up to a total of $7000.

If 20 friends can give $68.78 each, we’ll be there!

But anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.

The orphans will be so happy!

Thanks for journeying with New Thing!

Much love,

Doug Brendel
