These are heartbreaking days in and around my adopted homeland.
But good things can happen, even in bad times.
Aid is still getting into Belarus, over land borders to the west and northwest.
So our “Response of the Heart” team is still busy!
People are still receiving the help they need:
Orphans, foster families, the homeless, the sick, children and adults with disabilities, others.
We are careful never to talk about political, governmental, or military matters.
We never presume to know what our Belarusian team members think about issues.
We don’t ask those who receive aid where they stand on great questions of the day.
There is no litmus test for compassion.
Our only goal is this: for one who was hurting to be able to say, at the end of the day,
“Someone cared about me.”
God bless you for being someone who cares.
With your help, we’ll keep serving as long as doors to Belarus are open.
More adventures to come!
Thanks for journeying with us.
Much love,
Doug Brendel
